    • RE: Uncaught TypeError on application loading after upgrading to v1.14

      @metalsadman apologies, I’ve run into some more issues.

      My babel.config.js was beforehand as such:

      const fs = require('fs-extra');
      let extend = null;

      /**
       * The .babelrc file has been created to assist Jest for transpiling.
       * You should keep your application's babel rules in this file.
       */

      if (fs.existsSync('./.babelrc')) {
          extend = './.babelrc';
      }

      module.exports = {
          presets: [
              [
                  '@babel/preset-env',
                  {
                      'modules': 'commonjs',
                      'targets': {
                          'node': 'current'
                      },
                      'useBuiltIns': 'entry',
                      'corejs': {
                          'version': 2
                      }
                  }
              ],
              '@quasar/babel-preset-app'
          ],
          extends: extend,
          ignore: ['node_modules']
      };

      It contained a bit needed to make the Jest tests work.
      I’ve amended to look like this to fix the Uncaught TypeError on application loading mentioned above:

      const fs = require('fs-extra');
      let extend = null;

      /**
       * The .babelrc file has been created to assist Jest for transpiling.
       * You should keep your application's babel rules in this file.
       */

      if (fs.existsSync('./.babelrc')) {
          extend = './.babelrc';
      }

      module.exports = {
          presets: [
              '@quasar/babel-preset-app'
          ],
          extends: extend,
          ignore: ['node_modules']
      };

      However, now Jest does not play nice any more while running unit tests, and I get errors such as this:

      Cannot find module 'core-js/modules/es7.object.get-own-property-descriptors' from 'src/components/CrossoverDesign.vue'

      or

      Cannot find module 'core-js/modules/es6.array.find' from 'src/components/StudyArmsPicker.vue'

      Trying to use the following presets:

      presets: [
              [
                  '@quasar/babel-preset-app',
                  {
                      useBuiltIns: 'entry',
                      corejs: {
                          version: 3
                      }
                  }
              ]
          ]

      did not help at all. How should properly configure this?

      Thanks, I’ve sorted it out in the end. The issue was in my “presets” within babel.config.js.

      Even after I upgraded to @quasar/app v2.1.0 I am still running into the same error. What could be wrong/missing?

    • Uncaught TypeError on application loading after upgrading to v1.14

      I’ve recently upgraded Quasar from v1.11.x to v1.14.0 using the Quasar CLI procedure.
      Once I tried to restart the application (using quasar dev) the build goes fine but I get an error when the app is loaded:

      vue.runtime.esm.js:5106 Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'install' of undefined
          at Function.Vue.use (vue.runtime.esm.js:5106)
          at Object../.quasar/import-quasar.js (import-quasar.js:20)
          at __webpack_require__ (bootstrap:848)
          at fn (bootstrap:150)
          at Object../.quasar/app.js (app.js:18)
          at __webpack_require__ (bootstrap:848)
          at fn (bootstrap:150)
          at Object../.quasar/client-entry.js (client-entry.js:25)
          at __webpack_require__ (bootstrap:848)
          at fn (bootstrap:150)

      The problem seems to reside in my generated .quasar/import-quasar.js, which looks as follows:

      "use strict";

      var _interopRequireDefault = require("/Users/massi/Projects/oerc/datascriptor/packages/ui/node_modules/@babel/runtime/helpers/interopRequireDefault");

      var _vue = _interopRequireDefault(require("vue"));

      var _quasar = require("quasar");

      /**
       * THIS FILE IS GENERATED AUTOMATICALLY.
       * DO NOT EDIT.
       *
       * You are probably looking on adding startup/initialization code.
       * Use "quasar new boot <name>" and add it there.
       * One boot file per concern. Then reference the file(s) in quasar.conf.js > boot:
       * boot: ['file', ...] // do not add ".js" extension to it.
       *
       * Boot files are your "main.js"
       **/
      _vue.default.use(_quasar.Quasar, {
        config: {},
        plugins: {
          Loading: _quasar.Loading
        }
      });

      In particular, the _quasar.Quasar variable seems to be undefined. Any ideas on what could be causing this error? Thanks for any feedback

      I am currently using this setup:

      Dev mode.......... spa
      Pkg quasar........ v1.14.0
      Pkg @quasar/app... v1.9.6
      Modern build...... no (legacy ES5); use "--modern" param for ES6+
