QTable virtual scroll and items provided by a server

Is there any way to use the virtual scroll with data provided asynchronously by a server ?
I am trying to create a table with infinite scrolling, similar to the virtual scroll feature. However, whenever the user scrolls, an event should be triggered to fetch the requested items from the server. With today’s implementation, scrolling doesn’t trigger any event (in particular, it doesn’t trigger the @request event).
Does anyone know how to achieve this? Does this require additional development on QTable?

I’m not sure it would work with QTable’s virtual scroll, but there is an example of pulling data asynchronously with QVirtualScroll. That might get you going.
