Clarification using Starter Kit and Vue Cli3, needed please
-
Hmm…I was just about to suggest another name for that part of the docs and it looks like Razvan changed it already 3 days ago. Now it is “Quasar CLI” and now that I see it there, I can go with it.
I was about to suggest something like “Developing a Core Project” to go with the other “Developings” below it.

Scott, I still see “Starter Kit”
https://quasar-framework.org/guide/index.html
https://quasar-framework.org/guide/app-installation.htmlAm I missing something?

Maybe do a Ctrl + F5?

I had done that before I posted. No need to make fun of.
Docs Still shows the old stuff. -
Not making fun. Just a humble smile.
Are you looking at the version 17 docs?

Ahhh…I see what you mean. Thanks for the screen. A picture says a 1000 words.
I was talking about the menu on the left. That now has “Quasar CLI” instead of “Starter Kit”. Maybe there needs to be more thought put into the docs on this too.

Yes, I noticed the menu first, but all the right hand contents are still referring to starter kit.
Also, the need o fix the Vue CLi installation syntax to CLI 3. -
I’ve put in a PR. What do you think now?
Scott
-
Awesome.
And also here as well. -
-
Actually, I did some more changes.

Hehe…thinking alike. Yeah, I’ll update the vue commands too. Good catch.
Scott

Awesome!
I don’t want to give any reason to anyone to walk away from Quasar. I see Quasar’s engineering like Vue’s engineering…
-
I’m happy with the changes.

@nothingismagick Sorry for the late reply. To me, Starter Kit is just another term for Evaluation. I think a lot of devs, when researching, use several tiers. We haven’t time to play and test with everything, so we look for Top 10 articles and go from there. If something does not look quite ready, then it is skipped. Starter Kit is really just semantics, but I understand the Quasar Team would like to grab the attention of a someone investigating and hold them enough that the dev wants to play around and see if the framework will work out. I see Quasar becoming the UI defacto standard for Vue. Lastly, when I was looking for a UI framework (2+ years ago now), Quasar was not at the top of my list. Unfortunately, the one I went with, and the one after that, and again, the one after that, did not satisfy my requirements. I finally tried Quasar and was quite thrilled with it. I have seen it mature over the past year and I know it will, and can, accomplish big things.

BTW, my/ our suggested improvements to the docs have been merged.
So, “Starter Kit” has now been moved into the background.

Ok. https://github.com/quasarframework/quasar-framework.org/pull/605
@razvan - to make this whole, we’d also need to rename the repo itself.

Ideas?
quasar-boilerplate
quasar-init-template
quasar-init

Personally, I like this the best.
Just my two cents!
